Hunt the Odds: Ballistics is a hunting-first ballistic calculator that runs on your device, made by Hunt the Odds. The short version: we don't collect any personal information.

Information we collect

None. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We don't sell or share data because we don't have any.

Information stored on your device

Your rifle profiles, ammunition loads, ballistic settings, dope tables, range cards and unit preferences are stored on your device using your browser's own storage (IndexedDB, or local storage as a fallback). They are not uploaded or synced, and they are never sent to us. They leave your device only if you export a backup file yourself and choose to share it.

Location

The app only asks for your location when you tap Use Current next to the Elevation field. It takes a single reading, uses it to work out your elevation for the air-density calculation, and keeps only the resulting elevation figure, not your coordinates. It never tracks you or uses location in the background. On iPhone it asks for "When In Use" permission only. If you decline, the app works normally and you can type your elevation in.

Third-party services

Hosting. Our website host may keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and time) for security and operations.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
